Starting Salary : $52,177
Qualifications :
- Associates degree in Computer Science or related field, or comparable experience.
- Minimum two years experience in technology field.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Satisfactory work record & criminal / child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151).
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certified.
- In depth, hand-on knowledge of the operation, configuration, and maintenance of Cisco Catalyst 3500 / 3550 / 3560 / 3750 series switches and 6500 series routers.
- In depth, hand-on knowledge of the operation, configuration, and maintenance for NEC IPS 2000 / NEC SV8300 PBX’s for analog, digital and VOIP phones, TAP IT and AD64 software configuration and support systems.
- Working knowledge of the installation, testing and maintenance of network and telephony cabling including copper (CAT 3, 5, 5E) and fiber optic (single mode and multimode) and related copper and fiber optical test equipment.
- In depth, hand-on knowledge of Netware 5.x / 6.x and Windows 98 / NT / 2000 / XP, TCP / IP, Windows server, Novell OES Linux, and Apple Xserve as related to local and wide area networks, server hardware, and voice over IP telephony operations.

Summary :
To serve as a technical resource for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of School District’s network and telephony equipment and the copper / fiber optic cable infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Ensure network and telephony equipment operability and connectivity.
- Install, configure, and maintain network and telephony equipment and associated peripherals.
- Perform network and telephony problem determination and resolution.
- Install, configure and maintain network and telephony infrastructure cabling.
- Implement network and telephony equipment security.
- Maintain an accurate inventory and system drawings of all network, telephony and cabling equipment and components.
- Maintain District network and telephony hardware and software standards as set forth in the District’s technology plan.
- Oversee the daily operations of the District’s Windows, Novell OES Linux, and Apple Xserve servers and applications.
- Provide stable, secure, and appropriately scaled server environments consistent with the District’s service level agreements.
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with the members of the Information Technology staff and the District community.
- Communicate effectively.
- Perform other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
