Description
Production Supervisor
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the safety and manufacturing activities in the assigned departments to obtain desired quality and quantity of production at the lowest possible cost of all employees under direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Ensures that workers are wearing proper safety equipment and observing safety rules
Drives engagement with the workforce to ensure standard work is established and followed, relative to safety procedures
Utilizes the Job Safety Analysis (J.S.A.) to reduce safety risks
Directly supervises production workers performing unskilled to semi-skilled manufacturing operations in the assigned Department
Leads functional area in the use of Colfax Business System (C.B.S.) tools, including but not limited to, SMART Teams, Lifeguard Teams, Find It Fix It, as well as monitoring and correcting issues using the Area Board
Participates in and supports sustainment of Kaizen events. This includes Major events as well as Quick kaizens and Just Do It activities
Assures that production meets all requirements relative to Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost and Delivery
Advises all Production and Support functions of issues using excellent communication skills
Conducts on-the-job training of employees in assigned area. Assures a qualified, trained workforce
Ensures that housekeeping of the assigned production area meets the standards set by management
Keeps Production Manager advised regarding day to day operations and alerts the manager of any problems requiring attention
Targeted Experience & Requirements
Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing required
Must be able to work overtime as needed including weekends to meet business needs

Must show ability to solve problems, show strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
Must have practical knowledge of and ability to interpret the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
HRIS systems knowledge, WorkDay preferred
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Proven organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work on a variety of concurrent projects, with supervision, in a time sensitive manner
Proactive, customer focused and results oriented
Demonstrate business maturity and integrity; possess a high degree of tact, diplomacy and discretion
Strong follow through, accountability, initiative and flexibility required
