Special Education Teacher
Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
The ideal candidate will create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive educational plans.
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies.
- Assess student progress regularly and modify instructional methods as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student progress and services provided.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and parent conferences.
- Stay current with best practices in special education and instructional methodologies.
Requirements :
- Bachelors degree in special education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- State certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with assistive technology and specialized instructional techniques.
- Previous experience in a similar role or setting.
- Certification in specific areas of disability (e.g., autism spectrum disorders, emotional and behavioral disorders).
