Job Description

FLSA : Hourly

Work Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 30am - 5 : 00pm; partial remote work (3 days on campus & 2 days remote work)

Job Duties :

20% - This individual will assist with non-invasive brain stimulation sessions. Assisting with Brain Stimulation sessions, involves scheduling the different lab rooms along with the subject schedule and other team members, making sure the needed equipment is in the room and in place and ready for the study, as well as cleaning up the room after the session and making sure all equipment is in the proper place and equipment is turned off and ready for the next study in the room.

It also involves being in the room during the sessions and helping with subject related issues. Brain Stimulation sessions include TMS, VNS, tDCS, and ultrasound.

  • 15% - This individual will conduct study visits before and after regular working hours when necessary to accommodate the schedules of subjects, MRI availability, etc.
  • 15% - This individual will assist with recruitment and screening of research participants, including the development of advertising materials, meeting with and calling potential participants, distribution of advertising materials, and collaborating with relevant providers and researchers.
  • 15% - This individual will obtain informed consent, enroll study participants, conduct study visits as per the protocols and provide education information to subjects.
  • 10% - This individual will coordinate proper data management collection according to protocol requirements and compliance.
  • 10% - This individual will conduct data retrieval from large databases for data reporting and analysis.
  • 10% - This individual will initiate and maintain accurate and comprehensive records as required by he FDA, the IRB, the sponsors and Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.

This individual will schedule and participate in all sponsor and / or IRB monitoring visits to review study protocols and collected data.

5% - This individual will attend weekly staff meetings to review study progress.

Preferred Education & Experience : A bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology, Engineering, Computer Science or related field is preferred.

Prior experience in research is helpful but not mandatory, but a willingness to learn new tasks will be important. Further, prior experience with EEG, fMRI or other physiological measures as well as TMS or other brain stimulation techniques is preferred but not mandatory.

The ability to use computer word and data processing programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office, MATLAB, R, and SPSS are very helpful.

Strong interpersonal skills are key for promoting participant comfort during procedures and for being sensitive to any potential distress.
