Product Development/Configuration Specialist
Quanex is looking for a Product Development / Configuration Specialist to join our team in Wahpeton, ND.
In this role, you will be responsible for researching, developing, and launching both new and existing products. You will also oversee the implementation and maintenance of configurators, manage the setup of parts, and create drafts for required prints, ensuring technical accuracy.
Additionally, you'll develop detailed specifications and determine the testing requirements for manufacturing and components.

What’s attractive about the position?
- Pay : $50,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience
- Monday Friday position
What Success Looks Like :
- Work with Operations to establish groups, families, routing, bill of materials, and other manufacturing requirements (tooling, jigs, etc.) for all products.
- Configures all product information into the system for both new and existing changes. Ensures consistency, accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide input and recommendations in determining raw material specifications, machinery / equipment needs and / or utilization and new process tooling on product development projects.
- Lead configuration (E21 or KBC) by facilitating communication with all plants. Configure product in system for first and subsequent production runs.
- Convert existing configurations into the NetSuite configurator. Ensure standardization for like products across QCC.
- Provide drawings on existing or new products for customer approval.
- Conduct periodic costing evaluations of active business and develops cost estimates and quote models for all business.
Your Credentials :
- Two years of related post-secondary education; Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering Degree strongly preferred
- 5+ years of related experience
- ERP system experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques
- Ability to read customer and Quanex’s prints
- Knowledge of product types & maintenance of a configurator
