Our Product Management and Engineering teams are growing rapidly, and with this growth comes the need to expand our Technical Program Management capability.

The team works closely with 600+ R&D colleagues to align company goals and objectives to quality software releases across the major cloud platforms, leveraging best in class technologies.

We bring structure into cross-team efforts like software development, release cycles, and production support at scale just to name a few.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager at Seismic, you will work closely with our Engineering teams to establish, organize, execute, and monitor inter-connected projects.

You will help bring operational excellence and clarity to complex matters within our Engineering Operations and be seen as a go-to resource for process topics and status updates on highly visible and important programs.

Pacific Time Zone-based preference due to West coast and China team support

What You Will Be Doing :

  • Deliver and support multiple projects and programs, on time, within budget and on target
  • Use your strong technical background to ensure a complex project with multiple dependencies moves forward according to your project roadmap
  • Create and manage execution plans and risk plans at scrum and portfolio level
  • Facilitate and organize program meetings, release planning, demos, retrospectives and agile ceremonies
  • Communicate with management, developers, product managers, product owners and support specialists on product issues and continuously improve inter-team communications
  • Create alignment through the development and release process, working closing with Engineering and DevOps
  • Be responsible for the success of key software releases at Seismic. Be the credible and trusted leader to deliver these releases to customers on plan and with high quality
  • Drive the planning and execution of releases from concept to GA. Lead a delivery team of Product Managers, Engineering, Design, QA and other functional teams to deliver throughout all the release phases.
  • Build and run, with the team, the release master plan (schedule, dependencies, risks, etc.). Use your technical background and product knowledge to dedicatedly identify risks, issues and drive their resolution.
  • Be the authority on the software delivery life cycle processes and champion standard methodologies, metrics and high-quality standards with your delivery team.
  • Independently and accurately report on the state of your release to executive partners and be the trusted speaker on the state of release in key checkpoint reviews.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of communication, productivity and teamwork.
  • Work with the engineering teams to identify and remove cross-product roadblocks
  • Make constant assessments of feature pipeline, work done and work quality to support decision-making on release delivery schedule

What You Will Bring to the Team :

Bachelor’s degree and minimum 15 years of experience or advanced degree and 12 years of experience running software engineering programs.

Practical experience in Agile methodologies; Scrum Master certification a plus.

Strong software engineering technical background with a real passion for delivering high performance, quality software.

Knowledge of Cloud infrastructure and networking technologies is a plus.

  • Experience in software development and project / program management processes and Beste Practices (software development process and quality processes, such as planning, scoping, costs, schedules, initiatives, change and risk management, and mitigation).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong understanding of both product and program management techniques (Agile, SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, OKRs)
  • Extraordinary skills influencing, teaming, and delivering solutions in a highly complex environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently in a constantly evolving fast-paced environment with changing priorities and to inspire change across Seismic engineering teams.
  • Experience working with various project management tools such as Jira and Confluence

Seismic’s annual base salary range for this position will vary based on applicant’s location, experience, job level, skills, and abilities as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

The range listed below is the minimum to the maximum of our target hiring range.

This position is also eligible to participate in Seismic’s incentive plans in addition to base salary. The actual incentive amount will vary and will be subject to the terms and conditions set in the applicable incentive plan.

Seismic’s salary range for this position$137,400 $237,100 USD
