About the Company

Electric Pump, Inc and its family of companies have been in operation for the last 45 years providing fluid handling equipment to our customers in the industrial, municipal, and environmental markets.

In addition, we are the largest pump service organization in the upper Midwest. Electric Pump is comprised of eight locations in seven states with approximately 115 employees.

Summary / Objective

Controls Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain customer's equipment.

Work will include, but not limited to installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing a wide variety of water & wastewater controls, such as : VFDs, PLCs, SCADA telemetry, & station control panels.

Essential Functions

1.Perform highly diversified duties to install, repair, and troubleshoot controls of fluid handling products.

2.Understanding of basic PLC knowledge (Allen Bradley)

3.Provide on call assistance for emergency / unscheduled repairs of Control equipment as needed.

4.Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.

5.Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic.

6.Read and interpret pump manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

7.Able to understand and follow ladder diagrams and wiring schematics

8.Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

9.Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

10ply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Competencies

1.Knowledge of PLC's, VFD, motor controls, process instrumentation, and Windows based control software desired.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

The employee must frequently lift and / or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, around 7 : 30AM to 5 : 00PM with potential of overtime.

This technician would be based out of our Tea shop located at 115 Lipton Street #350; Tea, SD 57064 .

Travel

Travel is frequent with this position to various location around the state and neighboring states as needed. Company provides truck and company credit card for most expenses.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma / GED

Preferred Education and Experience

Post-secondary or trade school is preferred but not required.
