The Senior Operational Risk Officer (SORO) will provide support to the Head of Operational, Technology, and Cyber Risk (OTCR) following established policies or delegated authority.

This role includes providing challenge, guidance, and oversight over the first line of defence activities, ensuring alignment with the operational risk appetite, and supporting the introduction of new products in accordance with the Product Governance policy

Key Responsibilities :

  • Operational Risk Assessment and Control
  • Embed and communicate the Operational Technology Risk Type Framework (O T RTF) and associated policies in the country.
  • Execute country operational risk processes as defined in the US Addendum to the Operational Risk Type Framework.
  • Roll out operational risk training to stakeholders across all defense lines.
  • Challenge and assess first line risk identification and control activities.
  • Remediate internal and external audit findings related to OTCR.
  • Validate and challenge risk assessments and residual risks within covered areas.
  • Evaluate the control environment, including design, execution, testing, and history
  • Support risk escalation for medium to very high residual risks.
  • Approve the classification and reporting of operational risk events and mitigation actions.
  • Confirm effective implementation of risk registers and control metrics.
  • Capture and escalate material risk events timely.

Qualifications :

  • Experience in operational risk management and knowledge of the Bank's policies and procedures.
  • Preferred business / function experience and domain knowledge.
  • Understanding of the Bank's approach to operational risk management or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to build partnerships and leverage organizational resources.
  • Sound judgment and courage to perform control roles and maintain effective relationships.
  • No formal licenses or certifications required.

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 137,808 USD to 185,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location.
