Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : PACU Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day 5x8-Hour (05 : 00 - 13 : 00), Monday-Friday, 40 hrs / week, 8 / 10 hrs / day, no holidays, no weekends.
Call requirements - 1 weeknight per 3 weeks and 1 weekend per 12 weeks. Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : PACU / Recovery room experience required.
Pre-op and Phase II Post-op RN assistance required. Must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years.
License : Must have a nursing license from the applicable state or compact license from the permanent address state. Certifications : BLS certified through the American Heart Association.
Must-Have : Basic Arrhythmia experience required.- Must pass a Telemetry test prior to starting. Job Description : Nurses are responsible for prepping patients with inpatient and outpatient status for surgery.
- Outpatients will return for Phase II recovery for further pain management, recovery from anesthesia, and discharge teaching before going home.
- Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), a 14 bay recovery room.- Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, intervening, evaluating, coordinating, and facilitating care necessary in the immediate post-anesthetic period for surgical patients.
- Shift assignments may occur in multiple units based on staffing needs and are subject to reassignment if the primary unit no longer has a need.
- Orientation Schedule : Typically held every other week and includes department-specific orientation. Orientation lasts approximately one week with 20 hours non-billable.
