Summary :
The Airworthiness Inspector ensures aircraft and components meet quality standards, verifying that customer aircraft are airworthy and properly documented before returning to service.
Perform Quality Control inspections on aircraft and components in the Repair Station.
Inspect repairs and alterations for conformity to FAA-approved data.
Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and inspection requirements during maintenance.
Maintain accurate, legible records of work performed.
Collaborate with RTS to produce timely, accurate aircraft records.
Audit maintenance documentation for accuracy and completeness before approval for return to service.
Ensure aircraft / components are airworthy before flight.
Mentor technicians on proper documentation practices.
Additional Functions :
Communicate with management to identify work assignments and delivery schedules.
Monitor compliance with FAR Part 145 and the FAA-accepted Repair Station and Quality Control Manual.
Complete FAA-required conformity inspections and prepare certification data for FAA approval.
Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight tests as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills :
High School Diploma or GED required.
4 years of experience on large / mid-size aircraft.
Proficient in Federal Aviation Regulations, FAA forms, and documents.
Skilled in blueprint reading, shop mathematics, and QC procedures.
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Proficient in computer skills.
Must be able to work all shifts.
Capable of climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
