MP Assembler

Summary :

Assemble and test mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line in a manufacturing organization.

Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Support the Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety (QEH&S) policy and strategic direction of the organization.
• Perform sub and final assemblies with minimal supervision
• Work either in a production cell or with small parts by inspecting and sorting
• Perform to written job instructions or engineering drawing / work order
• Work to achieve general knowledge of operation / function of assemblies as required to troubleshoot units
• Learn operational or departmental equipment, tooling or gauging as required
• Identify process changes and methods improvements
• Maintain current instrumentation calibration
• Perform quality checks in accordance with established quality procedures and ISO requirements
• May be required to use forklift truck, hand trucks, carts, hoists and ladders.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Use and maintain personal protective equipment required to safely perform the job
• Ensure production pace is maintained to meet customer demand
• Learn and review daily production goals and metrics as a team
• Maintain cleanliness (5S) of work area daily
• Participate in continuous improvement goals of the work site

Skills / Equipment :

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to use various power (Pneumatic) hand tools (i.e.; power screwdriver, socket etc.)
• Ability to understand blueprints.
• Computer literate

Position Requirements :

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years' experience in assembly or other fast paced operations preferred.

WEIGHTS :
