POSITION SUMMARY :
The PRSC provides direct and indirect rehabilitation services to both individuals and groups of members served.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Demonstrates the facility mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders
- Assists with the Special Treatment Program Rehab / Nursing elements on their assigned shift
- Provides safe, effective and efficient implementation of daily activities in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care
- Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with members served
- Assists and co-leads therapeutic activity groups.
- Acts as a role model and a member of the Rehabilitation Nursing Staff
- Participates in and assists with rehabilitation groups and activities
- Attends shift report and assists in providing unit supervision as needed
- Knowledgeable of the inventory and how to obtain equipment and supplies for activity programs as directed
- Maintains order and cleanliness of the Activity Rooms
- Promotes and assists members served in developing self-help skills
- Reviews and implements members served treatment plans
- Actively participates in multidisciplinary team meetings and treatment planning meetings
- Responds to emergency / crisis situations
- Demonstrates knowledge Professional Assault Response Training techniques
- Observes, records and reports members served social, symptomatic, and psychiatric
- Regular on-time attendance for all scheduled shifts
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
- High School Graduate or High School Equivalency
- Desire to work with individuals with serious mental illness
- Must be CPR, ProAct or Crisis Prevention Institute, and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology or Social Work
