ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assessment of provider schedules and organize patient flow
• Assist providers with patient care :
• Rooming complex and acutely ill patients
• Maintain data registries and Meaningful Use information
• Medication reconciliation of complex medication lists
• Take vital signs and weight
• Perform point of care testing as directed by provider
• Perform screenings per provider guidelines
• Assist providers with clinical procedures
• Give injections and immunizations as directed by provider
• Input patient care orders after provider has noted them in patients progress note
• Document all clinical data correctly and appropriately in patient’s EHR, scribing patient visits
• Communicate patient information after consultation with Provider
• Set up exam rooms for procedures and surgeries
• Preload patient records prior to routine visit per provider protocol and oversight
• Refill patient medications according to protocol per provider approval and oversight
• Prepare, stock and clean exam room(s), maintain supplies and equipment for treatment
• Oversight of clinical environment with attention to safety and infection control, instrument cleaning
• Oversight of clinical equipment including routine checks, calibration, cleaning and repairing
• Perform point of care testing; oversight of testing kits
• Maintain emergency equipment
• Maintain pharmacy stock and order medical supplies as needed
• Oversight of vaccine storage, handling, and supply
• Process specimens and lab orders
• Administer routine regular and non-routine medications per standing order protocol, and / or provider orders
• Accurate documentation of all vaccine records
• Provide follow up with patient after hospital and / or skilled facility discharge and provide education as necessary
• Provide patient nursing care; facilitate patient education
• Coordinate and support individual, group and population based health maintenance and promotion
• Properly bandage and provide wound care
• Coordinate patient care management within house specialties and resources; community resources; home health and other health care agencies; hospital care
• Review biopsies for reconciliation, prepare report for the provider to review
• Manage telephone encounters utilizing triage and telehealth principles
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance in all patient care activities
• Participate in continuing and professional development
• Complete InterMed clinical competence expectations
• Be an informed clinical care resource
• Special projects as assigned by lead, coordinator, or manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Unencumbered active registered nurse licensure in state of Maine
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Proficient in Windows applications, electronic medical record preferred
• Excellent professional judgment, phone skills and decision making ability
• Work collaboratively with all team members
• Demonstrate initiative, responsibility, flexibility and decision making
• Demonstrate critical and reflective thinking
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
• Ability and willingness to provide excellent customer service to patients, InterMed colleagues and vendors

SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. 4, 10 hour shifts.

Pay range between $36.06 and $39.83 per hour depending on years of professional experience.
