Phaxis Travel Healthcare has an urgent need for a Travel Oncology RN in Atlanta, GA.
Location : Atlanta, Georgia (GA)
Contract Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM
Job Description : We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel contract position at our outpatient oncology department infusion center in Atlanta, GA.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, administering chemotherapy and treatments for hematology (we do not do blood transfusions).
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and other oncology-related treatments to patients according to prescribed protocols and standards.
- Monitor patients during treatments, assessing vital signs and responding to any complications.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, procedures, and side effects.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment progress.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of infusion equipment.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience within the oncology specialty.
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Chemotherapy certification.
- Strong knowledge of oncology nursing principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
