Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Security Officer at Ke Kilohana in Honolulu, HI. The Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, and enforcing security regulations.

They will also respond to emergencies, write reports, and collaborate with law enforcement when necessary.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and observational skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations and emergencies calmly and efficiently
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Experience in security-related roles is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• State of Hawaii's current GDE license ( guard card ) is a must

Essential Job Duties

Assist in a consistent manner that demonstrates caring, responsiveness, and knowledge of the property

Monitor security of the building by use of closed-circuit television and by perimeter and grounds patrol throughout the shift

Respond appropriately to emergencies including fire, security, and safety incidents

Demonstrate knowledge and skills or property systems including fire, water, electrical, and mechanical switches and valves for both common areas and individual units

Initiate and cancel evacuation procedures appropriately

Record and log shift events in the RS Log to assure continuity and to provide an overview of shift activity

Aware of House Rules and implement interventions in a positive way that encourages resident compliance with the house rules

Monitors move-ins and move-outs to prevent damage to the common area and assure safety and reserve / schedule the usage of the Freight Elevator

Accept and release authorized packages and provide Lost and Found services

Report any maintenance-related deficiencies that are observed and submit a work order for maintenance resolution

Reports complaints and incidents of unusual or questionable activities

Directly assists the General Manager in assigned aspects of daily security operations

Oversees driveway, loading zones, ramps, and entrances and helps prevent congestion; facilitates special parking requests;

and monitors parking garage and parking lot for improper parking
