About The Position
Job Title : Certified Surgical Tech Job Specialty : Operating Room (OR) Job Duration : 14 weeks Shift : Day - 8x5 - 07 : 00 AM to 03 : 00 PM Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years of OR-specific experience License : Not specified Certifications : BLS (Basic Life Support) Must-Have : Neurosurgery experience, willingness to work with robotic procedures, ability to pass an EKG competency exam Job Description : Provide surgical assistance in a variety of case types including robotic, bariatric, neuro-spine, neuro-vascular, urology, and transplants.
- Support the team in the OR with a focus on neuro-spine and neuro-vascular procedures such as laminectomy, fusion, discectomy, craniotomies, and aneurysm clipping.
- Collaborate with a team of RNs and scrub techs, ensuring a smooth workflow and optimal patient care.- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as necessary, with the expectation of call coverage.
- Assist in general surgeries including laparoscopic cholecystectomy, nephrectomy, and Whipple procedures, as well as bariatric surgeries like Roux-en-Y and gastric sleeve.
- Work closely with transplant teams in kidney, liver, and pancreas procedures when needed.- Engage in hospital and departmental orientation to acclimate to procedures and protocols.
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, with potential shifts on Saturdays and on-call responsibilities once a week.- Employ effective communication with the healthcare team, including RT and anesthesia staff, to support 24 / 7 patient care.
- Utilize hospital charting systems such as Meditech Expanse and operate equipment like Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensers.
