Position Overview
The Data Architect is responsible for implementing and communicating new standards across the Data Engineering teams for technical design and automation to enable reporting and focus on evolving best practices alongside Managers within the team.
The Data Architect will focus on the most complex business requests, supporting other data engineers in solution design and problem solving, whilst maintaining a heavy focus on the future of the technical solutions needed within the team to ensure their success grows and the business needs are met.
Supporting Senior Management in data strategy, proposals, and scoping of data engineering and business intelligence requests, the Data Architect will contribute to implementation of changes and provide guidance of the impacts within the team from a technical view.
Building key relationships across leadership and with managers in the team is essential, allowing the Data Architect to have a wider holistic vision of the business needs to help design and improve the technical architecture, resulting in improved frameworks for effective delivery.
What you'll do at Insight
- Owns overall technical relationship with assigned steering committees
- Owns development of proposals that address complex opportunities with input from other Solutions Architects
- Owns the development of high-level designs for solutions presented with input from other Solutions Architects
- Identifies business and technical requirements for all opportunities
- Actively tracks projects being worked on
What you'll need to join Insight
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience in technical architecture roles
- Bachelor's degree in relevant program of study, or equivalent documented work experience
- Hands-on experience in Azure Data Platform administration, development, and security
- Expertise in Azure Databricks, to include SQL and Python
- Hands-on experience with data modeling and data engineering
