Job Summary : Provides treatment to inpatient clients by assessing function and implementing appropriate treatments to enhance or restore function.
Collaborates in interdisciplinary in-service and community education and in clinical education of students. May be responsible for coverage at multiple sites.
Education / Certification :
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with minimum of B.S.
- Current Connecticut license in Physical Therapy.
Competencies :
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Windows-based programs and basic keyboarding.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel between work sites.
Key Responsibilities :
- Evaluate patients according to departmental standards.
- Modify evaluations based on patient's symptoms, activity level, and medical status.
- Provide appropriate therapeutic exercises and physical agents to relieve pain and attain goals.
- Educate patients / families in home exercise programs and functional activities.
- Support interdepartmental and referring physician communication.
- Document services in accordance with insurance guidelines and department procedures.
