The Role :

As a strategic business partner to Regional Directors and Area Leaders, The People + Culture Business Partner helps achieve brand and financial goals by influencing and advising how to maximize our greatest asset, our people! The People + Culture Business Partner is an ambassador of people management practices and a driver of change who leverages their influence and partnership skills to enhance CAVA as a Great Place to Join, Learn, Grow and Stay.

Successful partnerships are built by influencing and advising restaurant leaders to focus on people first. They are advisors, advocates, ambassadors, counselors, developers, facilitators, models, promoters, and stewards.

What You’ll Do :

  • Effectively balances business partner responsibility with employee advocacy and builds a positive employee relations culture and work environment
  • Acts as a change agent / leader and culture steward
  • Collaborates with HR and Learning & Development partners to execute enterprise-wide programs and solutions that meet business needs
  • Implements plans and actions to improve employee engagement and manager effectiveness, and foster inclusion
  • Champions and supports Human Resources service delivery processes
  • Consult with all levels of field management on a variety of HR areas and provide useful guidance
  • Work closely with talent acquisition managers to ensure the region is efficiently recruiting exceptional talent
  • Assist with facilitating succession planning to ensure the region is proactively planning to avoid talent shortages and that a bench of capable talent exists
  • Partner with field management and training to ensure all employees are progressing in the company’s various training and development programs
  • Work cross-functionally to identify and develop HR solutions that will ultimately improve business results through lowering turnover, increasing retention, developing high-performing coworkers, etc.
  • Provide timely and valuable consultation on performance management and employee relations issues
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests and inquiries to support business leaders in a timely manner
  • Accountable for multiple HR projects from beginning to end and for using efficient project management methodologies and tools, as appropriate

The Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources required
  • Multi-unit retail / restaurant / hospitality background required
  • Strong critical thinking skills with methodical approach to problem solving
  • Skilled at executing plans, project management, dealing with ambiguity and adapting to rapid change
  • Makes good decisions in a timely manner, based upon mixture of analysis, experience and judgment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • High sense of urgency
  • Multi-task and prioritize work with competing deadlines.
  • PHR / SPHR / SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus
  • Ability for travel up to 50% is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
  • For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
