As a Neonatology Echo Sonographer II, your role will entail performing routine to complex echocardiograms. You will be engaged in all procedures performed including but not limited to Transthoracic Echocardiogram or TTE, with Color, Spectral Doppler and 2-D imaging.
You may also assist with Transesophageal Echocardiogram TEE, Stress Echocardiogram or Pharmacologic Stress Echocardiogram, TTE with bubbles, TTE with Contrast and advanced TTE such as TTE with 3D imaging, for both inpatient and outpatient studies.
Summary of Essential Duties :
- Performs and calculates measurements of neonatal and pediatric 2-Dimensional Echo cardiograms and Color Flow / Spectral Doppler studies.
- Conduct imaging in the presence of medical support devices and functional data while using different systems of ultrasound equipment, such as Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), Right Ventricular Assist Device (RVAD), Impella, Tandem heart, Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).
- Provides patient and family education, specific to procedure and preparation for test within scope of field. Monitors patient’s medical history, previews ultrasound images and prepares preliminary reports.
Education :
Graduate of a 2-year diagnostic medical sonography program accredited by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required
Licenses / Certifications :
- Current ARDMS / CCI certification required
- Applicants with no certification may be considered as an Echo Sonographer I if willing to obtain RDCS or RCS within one year from start date
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
Experience :
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a full-time sonographer required
- Applicants with less than 3 years of experience may be considered as an Echo Sonographer I
