The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track.
Expertise is required in the specific area of development and validation of Alzheimer’s Disease and Neurodegenerative Diseases biomarkers.
Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. or M.D. / Ph.D. degree. Board certification / eligibility in clinical chemistry or clinical pathology.
Teaching responsibilities may include instructing and overseeing medical and graduate students, post-doctoral students, residents and fellows.
Clinical responsibilities may include Director level responsibility for the toxicology / mass spectrometry laboratory, including implementation of new diagnostic markers in support of the clinical mission and system harmonization needs.
Candidate would also be expected to provide guidance for system menu optimization in the areas of neurodegeneration and recommendations on the timing for clinical launch.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include the development of a collaborative and independent research program in the area of clinical biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease / neurodegenerative disease.
A successful candidate would be expected to demonstrate potential for success on funding sources, including collaborative efforts at the local, national and international levels.
