This position leads the Energy Development Office to meet the office's goals in cooperation with individuals, communities, businesses, and governments throughout Minnesota.

The Energy Development Office exists to accelerate equitable, affordable, resilient, and reliable clean energy deployment in Minnesota.

This position supports and enriches the Department of Commerce by aligning the Department's strategic priorities, Division resources, statutory requirements, and budgetary realities to effectively meet the clean energy goals of the state for the betterment of Minnesotans.

Minimum Qualifications

Five (5) years' experience in supervisory, management, lead work, or project management.

A bachelor's degree in relevant fields can be substituted for one (1) year of experience . An advanced degree in relevant fields can be substituted for eighteen (18) months of experience.

  • Ability to direct and lead projects, set program outcomes and objectives, meet deadlines, and measure and report results with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal and human relations skills to effectively relate to and work with a wide variety of people from many backgrounds.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate, review and critique technical data.
  • Financial management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise and experience in the development and implementation of energy programs.
  • Knowledge of the mission and programs of Commerce, and the range of energy and equity issues within Minnesota.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
