THE POSITION
We seek an experienced organizational leader committed to improving the lives of African and Hispanic Americans who face the stress of stigma and discrimination present in substance use disorder and being black or brown in our community.
We are looking for an executive who fluidly balances passion for mission with steadfastness for the business and operations of a growing nonprofit.
The ideal candidate brings a background in working in the public health and / or behavioral health space. We seek team members who bring a commitment to and lived experience in working towards equity, inclusion, and justice.

THE ORGANIZATION
The mission of Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Programs (UMADAOP) is to provide comprehensive, culturally appropriate, evidence-based prevention, treatment, recovery, reentry and educational services for Hamilton County’s African and Hispanic American communities.
We balance proven data and research with community and family support aimed at a holistic, full person approach to recovery for those we serve.
In doing so, we strive to make our communities healthier and stronger for the families who live there.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
- Leads the development and implementation of business operational strategies, goals, plans and tactics.
- Leads the development of an annual budget and execution of operating business plan.
- Leads the development and implementation of the purpose, vision, and mission of the company including the deliverance of safety and clinical excellence, a strong service culture, and strong financial results.
- Leads in the development of long-term strategic plans, governance structure and objectives for practice management, as established by the governing Board of Directors.
- Builds and sustains collaborative relationships with community, county and state agencies.
- Identifies and secures sources of fundraising for the organization.
Staff Management
- Ensures the recruitment, retention, support, development, and supervision of professional staff.

Culture
- Cultivates a holistic work environment that promotes transparency and collaboration and supports the agencies policies and procedures related to staffing, employee well-being, and accountability to the agency's mission and vision.
- Analyzes, recommends and supports practices seeking to improve performance on quality measures to engage in work redesign, changes in organization systems, policies and procedures, and quality improvement processes within the organization.
Operations
- Ensures all services meet the needs of the community and the population(s) served and represents the agency at social and corporate events in ways that strengthen the brand.
- Responsible for the direction, preparation and dissemination of corporate documents to maintain compliance with CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities).
- Ensures organizational operations function in an efficient and effective manner, including :
- Service delivery and information systems
- Risk Management and corporate compliance
- Scheduling and records management
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Credentialed
- Master’s degree in Business, Social Work, Counseling or a related field preferred.
- Independently licensed by the State of Ohio in Social Work, Addiction / Prevention, or a related Mental Health field; Supervision added value.
Executive Experience
- Depth in personnel management, budgeting, public relations, fiscal management, human resources, and staff development.
- Proven ability to strategically implement operational strategies, business plans, operational tactics, budgets, and goals.
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory best practices.
- A strong financial acumen and ability to analyze and communicate complex organizational financial issues compellingly.
Skills
- Employs strong persuasive and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Keen ability to build relationships across difference and develop strategic partnerships.
- Thinks strategically and demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills in times of calm and challenge.
- Thorough knowledge of Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Knowledge of CareLogic EHR Platform brings added value.
