Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
- Support with the utility area work plan integration process to ensure proper project scope.
- Ensure proper project scoping including design ride-out, route feasibility, permit requirements, easements, and identification of potential execution risks to develop a mitigation plan.
- Provide engineering support to ensure design options are evaluated and analyzed for a cost-effective, reliable design;
ensure design standards are consistently applied and that scope of work is properly captured in the project design.
- Manage all projects utilizing the utility software system including work request creation, data management, review of design cost and critical materials, and tracking of project budget versus estimated costs.
- Coordinate internal and external customer communications including third-party coordination, timely resolution of customer complaints, meetings with permitting agencies, and schedule / design coordination of any ongoing internal / external projects that overlap with hardening projects.
- Coordinate constructability meetings and provide engineering support for any required design changes during project construction.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Microsoft Office advanced skills
Education & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Utility Distribution Engineering
- Related Degree or Diploma is preferred.
Pre-Screen

License & Certifications :
Valid Driver's License Required.
Physical Requirements :
- RARE (less than 10%) : climbing poles, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., color vision, lifting, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- OCCASIONAL (up to 33%) : sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, crawling, manual dexterity, climbing on / off truck, gripping, reaching, range of motion, carrying, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, balancing, lifting up to 10 lbs.
- FREQUENT (up to 66%) : standing, walking, sense of touch, seeing distant, reading, hearing-speech range, depth perception.
- CONTINUOUS (up to 100%) : speaking clearly, seeing.
Safety
Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance / coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written / verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.

- May work around excessive noise from machines, chain saw, wood chippers, and other equipment with hearing protection
- May be exposed to nature i.e., irritating plants and biting or stinging insects, and dust
