SUMMARY OF POSITION
Registered Nurses in the Medical Surgical Float Pool are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients with and without telemetry.
The RN’s in the pool will float to the following units : Pediatric Intensive Care, Pediatric Intermediate Care, Pediatric Progressive Care, Pediatric Surgical Care, Pediatric Hematology / Oncology, Neonatal Intensive Care, Women’s and Babies (Postpartum), Pediatric Emergency Department, Pediatric Perianesthesia.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S) :
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
- AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Three years of RN experience in the field of Medical Surgical Nursing.
- Current BLS, PALS and / or NRP.
- BSN and Certification.
