Summary :
Provides professional nursing care for the comfort andwell-being of patients. Prepares equipment and assists physicianduring examinations and treatments.
Administers prescribedmedications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patientvital signs. Observes and maintains records on patient care,condition, reaction, and progress.
Themedical-surgical unit at Shoreline Hospital provides exceptionalcare for Ortho, Oncology, and Med / Surg patients. Our RNs care forpatients with elective surgeries, fractures from the ER, andmedical overflow.
Our Inpatient Oncology department is the onlyacute inpatient unit in the region. We take care of patients whocome in who may have a new or existing cancer diagnosis.
We treatthem with chemotherapy / hematology interventions when indicated ormay be treating them for symptoms related to recently havingchemotherapy.
We also care for patients who may have a secondarydiagnosis related to having cancer. Our wonderful team ispassionate about taking care of our oncology population.
Our focusis to create an environment that manages serioussituations / conditions with the sensitivity needed to enhance andinvoke physical and emotional healing reflective of CHRISTUSSpohn’s Mission.
Requirements : Education / Skills
Education / Skills
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
Experience
Two-years of Oncologynursing experience preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, orCertifications
- CurrentTexas State RN License
- CPR (American HeartAssociation)
- Oncology Clinical NurseCertification (ONC™) (Chemo) or Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)preferred.
