Pelican Ice is a leading provider of ice products in the region, serving a wide range of customers from restaurants and bars to event organizers.
We are currently seeking a Class A Driver to join our team. As a Class A Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and efficient delivery of our products to our valued customers.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a Class A vehicle to deliver ice products to designated locations
- Load and unload products using hand trucks or other equipment as necessary
- Ensure the accuracy of delivery routes and schedules
- Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with customers at delivery locations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and report any issues or damages to the appropriate department
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies during the transportation of products
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements
- Valid Class A driver's license with a clean driving record
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in commercial driving
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures
- Ability to operate and navigate a GPS device or use a map to determine routes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects, including ice bags weighing up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
