Strategy Financial Analyst III

We're on the lookout for an innovative and driven Strategy Financial Analyst III to join a high-performing finance team supporting one of the fastest-growing retail operations in the U.S. Known for smart, strategic growth and operational efficiency, this company empowers its teams to take on bold initiatives and deliver results that make a real impact. This Naperville-based role is a perfect fit for someone who loves working on challenging, long-range projects that guide big business decisions.

As a Strategy Financial Analyst III, you'll work on future-focused projects involving capital investment planning, market expansion analysis, and business case development for high-profile initiatives. You'll be responsible for creating the financial story behind major investments turning data and strategy into actionable business recommendations that shape the future.

Strategy Financial Analyst III Responsibilities :

  • Build and refine detailed financial models to evaluate capital investments and strategic initiatives
  • Develop business cases for new market entries, major operational upgrades, and regional expansions
  • Forecast long-term financial performance and support margin development analysis
  • Collect and integrate data from multiple business units to support strategic recommendations
  • Develop and stress-test assumptions using market trends and internal data
  • Present insights and recommendations clearly to leadership teams
  • Balance individual ownership with collaboration across a dynamic, project-driven team

Strategy Financial Analyst III Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in FP&A, investment analysis, or project-based finance
  • Experience working with financial modeling tools such as strategic business plans, financial cash flow models, and investment analyses, including the use of NPV, MIRR, and payback period (required)
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills; strong foundation in IRR and RNOA
  • Comfortable developing assumptions independently and working in ambiguous environments
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint; SAP experience is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to turn data into a clear narrative
  • Proactive, curious, and able to manage multiple long-term projects
