office and reports to the Project Engineering Manager.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic Project Engineer / Project Specialist to join our project engineering team in Pineville, NC.

The project engineer will be preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring the assigned engineering projects. The selected candidate will work on various projects involving close collaboration with many departments such as operations, maintenance, quality control, health and safety, logistics, etc.

The work will be in both the plants and the corporate office.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Define needs and requirements of the clients and help in justifying projects.
  • Prepare specifications and scope of work.
  • Manage equipment purchases. Meet with suppliers, analyze proposals, and make recommendations on the solution choices.
  • Plan and manage the installation and commissioning phases in our plants, while insuring that the corporate health and safety standards are observed.
  • Ensure the quality, safety and conformity of work and equipment, before and after delivery and installation.
  • Follow the financial budget of the projects.
  • Provide close out information to the client at the end of the project (warranty, drawings, updates plant layout).
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of the methods of the Project Engineering Department.

Qualifications & experience

Technical Skills :

  • 3-7 years of experience in engineering, in a manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Member of the Professional Engineers of NC(Asset)
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Experience in new equipment installation / commissioning
  • Experience with AutoCAD is a must
  • Be available to travel within North America approximately 20% of the time.
  • Knowledge of extrusion and plastic molding equipment would be an asset.
  • Highly motivated, versatile and dedicated.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong skills in personal motivation.
  • Excellent skills in customer relationship management.
  • Rigor and strong organizational skills.
  • Capacity to learn in a changing and technological environment.
  • Skilled communicator, with strong teamwork values.
  • General knowledge of mechanical concepts, pneumatics and hydraulics.
