Student Project Analyst, Department Of Surgery

Participates and contributes to operational, administrative, and strategic issues of the Academic Medical Center. Develops decision-making and problem-solving skills in relation to complex and organizational activities. Lead projects, see various process levels, and participate in decision-making process.

Education and Experience :

Student enrolled in a degree program.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Analytical, project management, and problem resolution skills. Verbal and written communication skills, skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications, interpersonal skills. Ability to assess operating procedures and prepare reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their business needs, formulate and complete end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled deliverables and presentations.
  • Conduct data analysis to make business recommendations (cost-benefit, invest-divest, forecasting, impact analysis).
  • Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of stakeholders, creating visual displays of quantitative information.
  • Assist in developing new strategies and procedures to increase efficiency, enhance workflow and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Help the medical center to focus on key decisions to improve products and services.

Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, occasional crouching / stooping, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing / pulling, occasional reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking.
