SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team.
The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care and contribute to the ongoing success and improvement of our internal medicine services.
Responsibilities :
- Provide comprehensive primary and specialty care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and management of chronic conditions.
- Prescribe medications and treatments according to established protocols and scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Stay current with advancements in internal medicine and healthcare practices through continuing education and professional development.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical research projects as appropriate.
- Provide mentorship and support to nursing staff and students.
Qualifications :
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Missouri.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Adult or Family Medicine by a recognized certifying body (e.g., ANCC, AANP).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an internal medicine or primary care setting preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in internal medicine, including experience with a wide range of medical conditions. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in Epic electronic health record (EHR) system.
