Minimum Qualifications :

• Master’s degree in Nursing
• Unencumbered California RN license
• One-year full-time RN experience in the previous 5 years
• Current BLS for practicum courses
• Evidence of a sensitivity to, understanding of, and the ability to manage the classroom environment and effectively provide instruction to college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and racial / ethnic backgrounds
• Previous teaching experience preferred

The mode of instruction is determined by the department to align with student and program needs. Instructors should be flexible teaching online or in-person according to university guidelines and policies.

Professional Development Opportunities :

San Francisco State University supports faculty with professional development opportunities such as ongoing training through the Center for Equity and Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CEETL).

The CEETL courses provide a systematic way to assure ongoing course quality and opportunities for new skill development in teaching courses in any learning mode, from in-person to online courses.

Interested candidates may submit : (1) a letter of interest, (2) curriculum vitae. This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, assignments on an as-needed basis, beginning Fall 2024 & Spring 2025 .

We will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill assignments as the need arises. Part-time faculty applications are accepted year-round.

Lecturer A / 2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range : $5,007 $6,359 per month

Lecturer B / 3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range : $5,925 $12,594 per month

Lecturer C / 4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range : $6,500 $13,831 per month

Lecturer D / 5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range : $8,184 $14,487 per month

Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
