Job Summary : The Senior Civil Construction Estimator / Project Manager is responsible for leading the estimation and project management processes for large-scale civil construction projects, including highways, bridges, utilities, and other infrastructure.

This role requires advanced expertise in cost estimation using HCSS Software / HeavyBid, project planning, and execution.

The successful candidate will ensure accurate project estimates, effective project planning, and successful project delivery on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Cost Estimation :
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
  • Utilize HCSS Software / HeavyBid for bid preparation, cost analysis, and estimate management.
  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of work and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain pricing and ensure the inclusion of all relevant costs in the estimate.
  • Project Planning and Scheduling :
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans and schedules, including defining project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Use project management tools and software to track progress, manage resources, and ensure adherence to project timelines.
  • Identify and address any potential risks or issues that may impact project schedules or budgets.
  • Project Management :
  • Oversee the execution of civil construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring that all project requirements are met.
  • Coordinate and communicate with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, architects, and subcontractors, to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Manage project budgets, including monitoring expenditures and controlling costs to prevent budget overruns.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to assess project performance and resolve any issues.
  • Bid and Proposal Management :
  • Lead the preparation and submission of bid proposals, ensuring that all requirements are addressed and deadlines are met.
  • Review and evaluate bid documents, contracts, and specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Present estimates and proposals to clients and address any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Quality and Compliance :
  • Ensure that all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain high standards of work and safety.
  • Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration :
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators and project team members.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment and encourage open communication within the project team.
  • Work closely with other departments, including procurement and field operations, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Documentation and Reporting :
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation related to cost estimates, project plans, schedules, and changes.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on project status, financial performance, and any issues or risks.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all project changes, approvals, and communications.

Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction estimation and project management, with a strong focus on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Software Proficiency : Extensive experience with HCSS Software / HeavyBid for cost estimation and project management.
  • Skills :
  • Advanced knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Working Conditions :

  • This position requires frequent travel to project sites and client meetings.
  • The role involves working in both office and field environments, which may include exposure to various weather conditions and physical demands.

Job Types : Full-time

Pay : $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
