JOB TITLE : Dial-A-Ride Dispatcher
DEPARTMENT : Operations & Quality
REPORTS TO : Dial-A-Ride Dispatch Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Collaborate with routing specialists, (schedulers), to optimize routes
- Dispatch drivers using information provided by the clients through the
Reservation Department and the online Reservation Application
- Review and respond to all incoming calls, confirming all details with the client o Review reservation two weeks out o Discuss with the client availability to review online reservations
- Field incoming calls for same day requests, confirm availability and review possible route changes
- Initiate all outbound calls to the City Connect and Access
- Troubleshoot and resolve potential pick-up problems before they result in service issues
- Ensure service on missed pick-ups by coordinating driver movement in the field
- Assists in determining daily level of driver staffing to provide best mix of responsiveness and productivity
- Identify and plan deployment for increase / decrease in route volumes, shifting resources in response to seasonal and other fluctuations
- Record and document information and distribute to appropriate departments including : o Route information o Driver productivity information o Sales and service issue opportunities o Safety issues o Problem stops o Ensure accuracy and thoroughness of on-time pick-up o Customer service o Driver / Dispatch records
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Able to sit for extended periods of time
- Able to lift 50-lbs
OTHER REQUIREMENTS :

- Comfortable using online search engines, email, and the internet.
