Position : Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT – Acute / Critical Care)

Shift : 3x12 Rotating (Days / Evenings / Nights | 12hr / 6hr possibilities)

Job Summary :

Join a busy, fast-paced Respiratory Care Department in Rapid City, SD, providing high-acuity care across Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal Critical Care settings. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RRT to expand skills in a Level II trauma environment, working with advanced ventilator technologies and a collaborative, 24 / 7 supported team.

Facility Details :

Bed Size : 260–280 | Daily Census : ~250–260

Environment : Highly progressive, acute, and critical care respiratory practice

Scrub Color : Pewter

Parking : Free on-site

Patient Types :

Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal Critical Care

General Inpatient Respiratory Care

Must be prepared for NICU coverage as needed (NRP required)

Responsibilities :

Provide respiratory support in critical care, NICU, and inpatient settings

Manage and operate advanced respiratory equipment and ventilators

Perform patient assessments, document in EPIC , and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams

Participate in emergency response and code situations

Float within the hospital and ED as needed (no floating to other facilities)

Required Certifications & Education :

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Required

CRT not accepted

South Dakota RCP License (must be active prior to start; 30-day processing via SDBMOE.gov)

BLS & ACLS required

NRP required if NICU coverage included

Associate’s Degree minimum

Skills & Equipment Experience :

Critical Care & General Respiratory Care

Ventilators : Draeger V500, Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, Servo-I MRI, Hamilton C1

Devices : ResMed APAP / CPAP / Bi-Level, Airvo2, Cough Assist, Incourage Vest, IPV, Praxair iNO

Charting : EPIC (required), Omnicell

Support & Schedule Details :

24 / 7 support from Charge RT and Respiratory Clinical Specialist

Leadership : Supervisor, Manager, and Director onsite

Weekend Rotation : Every other

On-Call : Possible, depending on facility assignment

Home Health Call : Every other week (business + after-hours coverage)

Holiday : Required if within contract period

Time Off : Up to 7 days (must extend contract if full week off)
