Join a leading supplier for mooring technology as a Senior Mooring Engineer!
X4 is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Mooring Engineer to join a dynamic team. Based in Houston, TX, this role involves a blend of in-office and offshore engineering tasks to meet project and regulatory requirements, develop robust mooring system designs, and ensure safe and efficient offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Execute detailed engineering design and analysis for studies and projects.
- Develop and review project deliverables, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee, mentor, and train junior engineers.
- Support offshore personnel and QHSE assurance practices.
- Assist in technical sales efforts and proposal development.
- Design and analyze mooring systems to meet regulatory and project-specific requirements.
- Develop and evaluate offshore mooring installation concepts and methodologies.
- Define and assess installation vessel requirements.
- Create procedures for mobilization, demobilization, and offshore operations.
- Perform rigging design calculations and generate equipment lists.
- Interface with clients, vessel owners, and third parties.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate operational capabilities and requirements.
- Supervise offshore mooring and subsea equipment installations.
- Collaborate with engineers and offshore personnel.
- Produce reports and documentation during and after offshore execution.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor or Master of Science (BS or MS) in Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent.
- 5-10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the marine and offshore industry.
- Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, with a keen attention to detail.
- Profound understanding of offshore and / or marine industry terminology, concepts, and practices.
- In-depth knowledge of mooring system design, analysis techniques, and offshore operations.
- Familiarity with QHSE assurance standards and practices.
- Willingness to support technical sales and proposal development.
Location :
This position will involve domestic and international travel and offshore work. primary office locations include Houston, TX, Morgan City, LA, and Fourchon, LA.
