Laboratory Technician

A utility client is looking for a Laboratory Technician who will support the laboratory and chemists performing laboratory analyses.

Location : Diamond Bar, CA 91765

Position : Laboratory Technician

Pay Rate : $25 to $30 / hr. W2 (depending on experience)

Duration : Approximately 4-6 months (with a possibility to extend up to 12 months)

Schedule : The schedule is expected to be four 10-hour days (7 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 30 p.m.), Tuesday through Friday, however, on occasion, the schedule may switch to Monday through Thursday, or Wednesday through Saturday.

Interested individuals must be willing to work these schedules within a Monday - Saturday timeframe. Flexibility is important for this assignment.

Responsibilities :

• The Lab Tech position will support the laboratory and chemists performing laboratory analyses.
• The Lab Tech will be responsible for sample handling, sample media preparation, sample extraction, solution preparation, and other duties relevant to production laboratory operations.

Qualifications :

1. Education A minimum of twenty-four (24) semester units (36 quarter units) in chemistry is required which must include the following courses : general chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical methods, and the applicable laboratory sections.

Courses in instrumentation, mathematics (at the calculus level), statistics, and introduction to data processing are desirable.

The most competitive candidates will also have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or similar field.

2. Experience Laboratory experience is highly desired. Candidates with the most directly related or transferable experience will be given the highest consideration.
