Job Description

Position Overview : The New Teacher Project Manager will travel to each KIPP NYC school throughout the week to partner with leaders and staff to cultivate a robust pipeline of talented educators throughout our Associate Teacher Program.

We need a proactive individual with exceptional organizational prowess and a knack for systems to attract, train, and retain new teachers.

The New Teacher Project Manager will be responsible for the following scope of work :

Full Cycle Recruiting :

  • Collaborate with the Recruitment Team and KIPP NYC stakeholders to identify, attract, and select diverse, high-quality candidates.
  • Conduct application reviews, and video and phone interviews in a friendly, efficient, and rigorous manner.
  • Create and sustain systems that enable successful recruitment and hiring events.
  • Ensure candidate matriculation by developing relationships with prospective talent, creating a positive candidate experience with timely communications, and effectively and passionately selling the KIPP NYC mission and values.
  • Monitor prospective candidates’ progress consistently throughout the recruitment process; manage cultivation and selection data;

and use data to drive change in efforts.

  • Create tools and train school-based staff on best practices ensuring a positive candidate and staff experience.
  • Develop, build, and strengthen new and existing relationships with organizations and universities to attract quality Associate Teachers.
  • Assess data to adjust team-wide outreach strategies, support recommendations, and drive outreach decisions

Teacher Development :

  • Implement components of continuous learning and professional growth through workshops, seminars, and other learning opportunities for new teachers.
  • Review Associate Teacher performance trends and ensure development data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with the Director of New Teacher Development to evaluate the effectiveness of teacher development initiatives and make adjustments as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.

Qualifications

At least three years of professional experience in recruitment, operations, customer / client services, or related roles in educational spaces;

teaching experience is a significant plus

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • A passion for the mission of KIPP NYC
  • Experience with Google Suite and Tableau a plus
  • Exceedingly strong organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and flexibility to accommodate a high level of responsibility, multiple priorities, and a changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills that contribute to a collegial working environment and a healthy measure of the character traits we value : zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor.

Additional Information

KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,304 to $88,745 per year. Salary ranges at KIPP NYC are standardized based on role level and role function.

Individual salaries are determined through a lens of equity, accounting for years of experience relevant to the role and scope of responsibilities, and are benchmarked against others within the same salary band.

Starting salaries typically fall in the lower half of the salary range, however they are ultimately determined by scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.
