Summary
POSITION SUMMARY
The Nurse-Clinical, under the direction of the Director of Nursing, utilizes knowledge and skills at a competent level to provide direct age-specific and culturally appropriate patient care through the use of the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, along with the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process.
Additionally, serves as a clinical resource and preceptor, participates in patient, family, and staff education, demonstrates leadership skills, and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
The Nurse-Clinical must be able to provide and understand the specific communication, developmental, and treatment needs of patients, families, and visitors ranging in age from early adult to late adult.

- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina
- All licensed nurses shall possess a valid healthcare provider cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate within six (6) months of their first day on the job in the facility.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be in good physical condition and able to withstand the stress and demands of an active position.
Must be able to withstand many long hours of standing, walking, stooping, bending and sitting.
Must be able to lift or move patients and equipment used in the units.
Manual dexterity, good eye / hand coordination and acceptable vision and hearing needed in daily work.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers of SHRC.
Must be able to respond calmly and efficiently in crisis situations.
Must have proper planning of assignments to maintain standards.
