Senior Survey Manager 1
Description
GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Survey Manager for our Midwest Region. The successful candidate will be a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Indiana and Ohio or have the ability to obtain these licenses within 6 months of hire and will be based out of one of our Midwest offices;
Ft Wayne, Fishers, or Indianapolis, IN, Canton, OH or Florence, KY. This position is eligible for GAI's flexible work schedules and a $2,000 sign-on bonus.
Essential Duties :
- Oversight and management of survey crews and survey processing
- Development and management of mapping and legal descriptions - Right of Way Engineering and Location Route Survey Plats
- Pursuit and management of projects with local clients
- Meeting with clients, architects, engineers, and other design personnel to establish project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- This position will require some minor travel and overnight work on rare occasions.
Job Qualifications :
- Associates or Bachelor's degree from a program accredited by ABET. PLS certification preferred.
- Ability to sign and seal legal documents
- The ability to multi-task and manage multiple survey projects and / or tasks concurrently is required.
- Strong communication skills are required, including verbal, written, and presentation
- Strong relationship management and leadership skills are required
- Travel to project sites throughout Indiana and perform field survey work is required, with occasional overnight stays.

- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) License

Technical Responsibilities
- Oversight and coordination of project tasks.
- Available to junior staff for guidance.
- Provides opportunities to junior staff for becoming familiar with task management and financials.
- Working knowledge of project contract documents.
- Recruiting and retaining staff.
- Interpreting the strategy of toplevel management and translating it into everyday policies.
- Developing and implementing day-to-day routines for a team, department, group, or division.
- Talent development : Develop Staff skills and empowering them as problem-solvers boosts innovation and productivity.

Verifying the accuracy of field measurements and calculations.
- Help develop, implement, and monitor Business Development Plan for Geomatics with Practice Area Lead, and Business Development staff.

- Making sure that processes and procedures are in compliance with the overall organization's guidelines.
- Inspiring and encouraging employees to perform their best.
- Assigning and supervising specific work tasks.
- Allocating resources within a team, department, group, or division.
