Security Officer III
The Security Officer III position is charged with providing security services for campus and contracted areas as well as leading the Security Office and its employees.
This includes supervising student dispatchers, campus ambassadors, and campus assistant patrol officers, as well as those in Security Officer I and II positions.

Required Duties and Responsibilities :
- Lead representative of the Security Team during incidents until a higher-ranking Security Administrator arrives.
- Responsible for ensuring all buildings on campus, off campus, and in contracted areas are open or secure at designated times.
- Patrol campus and contracted areas to maintain order and security, including identifying and addressing suspicious individuals or vehicles.
- Complete punch rounds of buildings on campus and contracted areas, write citations and warnings as needed.
- Learn and understand all relevant codes for buildings, areas, and applicable laws.
- Stay informed of campus and contracted situations, review logs and reports, investigate irregularities, and ensure dispatcher accuracy.
- Maintain equipment, fill out incident reports, and follow Security Office protocols.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Qualifications : High School diploma or equivalent; or three plus years of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Ability : Ability to read, write, and speak effectively.
- Math Ability : Ability to perform basic math operations.
- Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems.
- Certificates and Licenses : Current Guard Card, Valid CA Driver’s License, and clean driving record.
Work Environment : The employee may be exposed to various conditions including wet / humid areas, outdoor weather, and moderate noise levels.
Physical Demands : The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, have specific vision abilities, and perform various physical activities.
Wage Range : $17.92 to $19.75 per hour plus benefits including health coverage, tuition assistance, paid holidays, and more.
