Our client is looking to fill the role of Freelance Assistant Technical Designer. This role will be hybrid and based out of the New York office.
Responsibilities :
- Work closely with Design to provide accurate production specs based on fit and construction of the garment.
- Spec all samples that come in various productions stages and seasons.
- Communicate fit-comments with vendors. Illustrate the corrections if necessary.
- Prep fit sessions, take notes and pics of the garments during fitting.
- Assist in organizing and prioritizing workload to meet all deadlines.
- Organize samples by category and season. Keep work-area neat and tidy.
- Send samples to factories and warehouse under the direction of the Head of Dept.
Required Qualifications :
- Superior organizational and communication skills. Team oriented. Meticulous and detail oriented.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern-making, silhouettes, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim. Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or Pattern-making.
- 1 - 2 years’ experience in technical design of apparel
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), PLM, Adobe products.
