Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an immediate temporary position through July 3rd in Palo Alto, CA.
This temporary role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse student population in a supportive and dynamic educational environment.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech and language disorders, providing high-quality services to support student success during this short-term assignment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech, language, and communication skills, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language comprehension and expression.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and students' specific needs, goals, and educational objectives.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students with a variety of communication disorders, utilizing evidence-based interventions and techniques.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate speech and language goals into students' educational plans and classroom activities.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure continued growth and achievement.
- Provide consultation and support to teachers and staff on implementing accommodations and strategies to facilitate communication and language development in the classroom.
- Participate in team meetings, including individualized education plan (IEP) meetings, to review student progress, discuss assessment results, and develop or revise educational plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Stay current with research, best practices, and trends in the field of speech-language pathology, incorporating new knowledge and techniques into clinical practice.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes communication skills, self-confidence, and academic success for all students.
Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current California state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an SLP.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as an SLP, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
