Our Team
Located at 978 Worcester Street in Wellesley, MA, the Sports Medicine team at Newton-Wellesley treats a large volume of sports-related injuries.
Our specialists offer state-of-the art outpatient surgical treatment using regional anesthesia for conditions of the shoulder, knee, and ankle.
We work with athletes at all levels, including high school, college, professional athletes and weekend / recreational athletes.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a per diem Medical Assistant to support the practice on-site picking up shifts primarily on weekends and weeknights as needed for coverage.
We can be flexible on exact shift times based on employee availability!
Our Medical Assistants partner alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses primarily working with 1 to 2 providers as our support model.
Our medical assistants see about 15- 20 patients a day supporting their providers doing 100% clinical work. Our team of Medical Assistants work with a variety of patients within sports medicine, pediatrics, and orthopedics.
Our providers love to build lasting relationships, teach and mentor based on your future goals as a medical assistant or whatever path you choose in the medical field!
Responsibilities include :
- Functioning as a "flow manager" / ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
- Assisting with direct patient care during the office visit (examination, procedures, and treatments as advised)
- Performing clinically appropriate administrative tasks (chart prep, phone triage, in-basket messages, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, We have a team to handle true phone triage!
- Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
- Providing an exceptional care experience by interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.

- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant training program, nursing student, or Paramedic required.
- CPR training required.
- Experience working as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Epic experience preferred
