Job Summary
Responsible for content creation, curation, and dissemination for social media, public relations, marketing, and campaign initiatives.
Participates in online / digital, email, social and digital media content creation and execution. Promotes district and college activities and services through provision of public information, marketing, and internal / external communications support.
Essential Functions
30% - Under the direction of the GCC Marketing Director, the position works with the GCC Marketing Analyst, campus stakeholders, and District Office marketers to distribute earned social media content that educates and entertains target audience and supports marketing goals.
- Target audiences include : prospective students, current students, community members, businesses, alumni, faculty and staff;
- provides continual coordination, execution, and implementation of all applicable social media outlets including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Google +, X, LinkedIn and other relevant channels as target market preference evolves;
- assist in executing promotions and campaigns, consistent with strategic marketing plan / program, and track their success;
work with marketing analyst to maintain daily post schedule and monitor social feeds
20% - Creates and curates sharable content for messaging and campaigns on GCC’s social media platforms ensuring accuracy and consistency with messaging, voice, tone, style, and brand guidelines.
Optimizes content for driving awareness, interest and lead generation. Ensure consistency of messaging and relevance with GCC websites, electronic newsletters, and marketing materials
20% - Under direction of the supervisor, engages in outbound media efforts via Hubspot email drip campaigns / lead scoring and student engagement communications and programs, including campus news bulletin
20% - Follows best practices for social media engagement, assists in monitoring benchmarks for evaluating impact of social media content, and analyzes and reports on effectiveness
10% - Assists with coordination of earned social media coverage of college events, programs, and services, to include content development and dissemination.
Monitors and responds to social media inquiries and conversations. Performs photography of functions for college events, and programs as relates to earned social media posts and campaigns, and other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and one year of responsible support experience directly related to assignment, which may include coordination of records and materials, event and project logistics, social media metrics, marketing data gathering and compilation of data and metrics.
Strong writing skills are required.
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law orregulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
A.One (1) or more years of demonstrated experience developing content for a variety of digital and (or) social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and(or) X
B. Experience working with social media monitoring and (or) reporting tools to track earned social media content effectiveness.
C. Experience in the deployment of earned social media tactics and (or) marketing campaigns
D. Proficient writing and content creation skills for social media, digital, and (or) earned media platforms, demonstrated through cover letter and resume.
E. Customer service experience with diverse populations throughout an organization
Special Working Conditions
- Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required
- Travel to campus during interview / selection process will be at candidate’s own expense
- Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations
- May require numerous evenings or weekends
- May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
- May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs
