Overview

• This opening will be for either the Pre-op / PACU or Operating Room dependent on candidate background.
• Requires at least 1 year of recent pre-op / PACU experience or at least 1 year of recent operating room experience.
• Schedule : PRN, Pre-op hours are 0615-1445, PACU is 0730-1600, with some late shifts. OR is 6 : 45AM-3 : 15 PM with some late shifts.

M-F, No holidays, no weekends, no call. This candidate must have availability to be flexible with which days of the week they can work based off the centers need.

The anticipated need is 2-3 days a week but there are no set schedules or guaranteed hours for this PRN position.

• Department : Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC), surgical services.
• Location : Hawthorne Surgical Center, 1999 South Hawthorne Road, Winston Salem
• Unit Info : Some of the common procedures consist of Opthalmology, Pain & Podiatry. There are 12 bays in pre-op & 12 in PACU.

There are four OR rooms and 2 procedure rooms.

Qualifications

Education : High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, required.

4 Year / Bachelor's Degree, preferred.

• Experience : One year of ASC, PACU or operating room experience; preferred.
• Licensure / Certification / Registration :
• Current RN Licensure in appropriate state, required.
• ACLS and PALS, preferred.
• Additional Skills Required : Must have a thorough understanding of role of RN and ability to carry out the functions as stated in the NC nurse practice act.

Ability to set priorities and organize workload of unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient's age.

Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his / her age specific needs.

Proficient in telephone screening and interviewing skills.
