Job Description
Our client, a privately held, veteran owned small business (VOSB) located in Land O Lakes, FL is seeking a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST.
Our client is a designer and manufacturer of highly reliable, ruggedized low voltage switch-mode power supplies and backup power (UPS) products for military / aerospace and industrial applications.
Responsibilities, skills and qualifications :
- Understands and administers our quality system program in accordance with company and customer requirements.
- Develops and implements continuous improvement programs to improve overall operations
- RMA Lead responsible for coordinating, processing, and ensuring completed documentation of customer returned material.
- Interact with customers and suppliers regarding quality issues, analyzes returned products and implement corrective actions and quality improvement plans.
- Manages internal reporting of quality metrics.
- Acts as point person for internal and external (off site) quality audits and source inspection.
- Contributes to overall company quality initiatives.
- Supervises operation of Quality Department including the quality inspectors to ensure timely and accurate performance of their work.
- Trains and develops Quality technicians / inspectors to ensure a culture of Continuous Improvement.
- Performs final inspection / audit of WIP / finished goods and documentation for release to customer.
- Works closely with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel to assist with resolution of any internal or external quality concerns (including scrap, suspect material, non-conforming material requiring deviation, .
- Lead MRB and document discrepant material dispositions.
Job Requirements
- Strong background in quality and manufacturing systems.
- Strong understanding of PCB Assembly, Cable Assembly, and Mechanical Assembly processes and techniques.
- Direct knowledge of ISO AS9100D with ISO 9001 : 2015, IPC Standards, J Standards, MIL-Standards and lean practices and techniques.
- A general knowledge of process performed by our key suppliers including PCB fabrication, metal forming and cable / wire harness assembly.
- Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with vendors, customers and internal departments.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct work experience in contract manufacturing QA Systems, regulations, guidelines, and associated standards.
- Problem solving, root cause analysis.
- Experienced user of MS Office suite of products including MS Access
Education and / or Experience :
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 years of experience are required.
- Prefer 5-10 years of Quality Engineering / Management or related experience.
- Experience in the electronics industry required
