Data Specialist

Duties :

Responsible forcreating and managing data that will be used through all phases ofthe Software Development Life Cycle by various testing teams in theorganization to support inscope testing activities.

The Test DataCoordinator will assist in the planning organizing and provisioningof test data for all applications; both Vendor Managed and Legacyapplications for major projects.

Manage effortsnecessary to identify and define test data needs based on businessrequirements for Vendor Managed and Legacy Applications andsurrounding / interfacing systems.

This requires working withmanagement and staff in multiple departments.

Extract import and export test data in various databases and fileformats.

Ownership of Test Data required tosupport all functional and nonfunctionaltesting.

Serve as a subject matter expert ontest data for testing teams and dev teams whereapplicable.

Identify design and implement testdata process improvements that involve automating manual processesof existing test data generation to optimizedelivery.

Optimize test data processes based onlessons learned through projects.

Manage testdata challenges for the testing team providing guidance trainingand mentoring of the team members where needed.

Collaborate with Governance & Standards Lead to developreusable templates for documenting test datarequirements.

Partner with Governance &Standards Lead to ensure adherence to test data policies andstrategies to make certain data is synchronized across differentsystems.

Perform data auditing activities andassist with ongoing governance and data architectureprocesses.

Work with Test Lead to ensure testdata requirements are met.

Assist in triage ofdefects and in finding a solution to defects that are related totest data inconsistencies.

Apply extensiveexpertise in integration and test and be recognized as a subjectmatter expert in managing data.

Partner withmanagement to define the test data management strategyroadmap.

Execute on the test data managementstrategy roadmap by consulting with relevantstakeholders.

Support test lead whenneeded.

Support Functional test planning designtest data preparation and execution activities.

Identify and mitigate / escalate risks and issues to the test leadthat are related to test data inconsistencies.

Identify test data anomalies and perform datareconciliations.

Identify relationships indisparate data and resolve test datadiscrepancies.

Coordinate with other Enterpriseteams to acquire / provision deidentified test data required tosupport planned testing.

Coordinate withRelease / Change / Environment Management teams to setup test data invarious non prod environments to enable the plannedtesting.

Coordinate with testing team automationteam environment team and other Enterprise teams to assess testdata gaps in test environments to support plannedtesting.

Validate consistency of data in testenvironments.

Formulate test data backup plansand ensure that they are implemented in a timely fashion andproperly secured.

Work on and coordinate specialprojects as requested by management.

Theposition requires a fulltime work schedule and does not supportwork from home. Fulltime is defined as working at least 40 hoursper week plus any overtime as requested or needed to perform jobresponsibilities.

Perform all other duties asassigned.
