Job Details
A large system in Nebraska / Iowa are looking for ICU RN's. 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed. 2 years of unit experience. 13 Week contract.
Job Requirements
- 2 years of unit experience.
- Able to titrate drips : Yes
- Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics
- Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? : Yes- will attend RRTs and Codes
- RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? : No techs- Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring.
RNs need to be able to read and interpret.
Schedule Information
- 12 hour shifts : 0630-1830, 1830-0630.
- Weekend Requirements : Every other
- Holiday Requirements : Every other or as needed for based on unit needs
- Floating Requirements : Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity / NICU
- How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? : 2 shifts

15 years old, Neuro surgery, Respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock (impella, balloon pump - not required exp.
renal failure (CRRT) - not required exp., general surgery, psych / OD, GI bleeds, cancer specific surgeries - esophagectomy, internal chemo administration, CVPs, Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring- all can train real time, Zoll -Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuser
- Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Yes- 1 : 18
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : Nasal cannula to vents
- Scrub Color / Dress Code : Navy Blue
Additional Details
Fast paced unit with volume flexes due to being primary tertiary hospital for the system. Attributes that will make a nurse successful on this unit are the ability ask questions, a positive attitude, willingness to help others, critical thinking skills, personable, and positive attitude.
Have a team environment meant to foster high quality care and work with attendings and student providers (fellows, residents) to collaborate on care.
- Radius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
