Job Summary :

The Technical Support Associate will provide technical assistance and answers to users’ questions and assist employees and customers in troubleshooting and resolving computer-related issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

None

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Troubleshoot problems and perform minor repairs.
  • Fields support calls, chat, email, and / or other communication from users with inquiries regarding software programming, connectivity, printing, and similar concerns.
  • Assist with onsite and offsite meeting / event technical needs, including equipment, systems and network set-up.
  • Ensure system functionality and system capacity by testing computer components.
  • Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems.
  • Guides users through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, which may include use of diagnostic tools and software and / or following verbal instructions.
  • Teach staff to use programs and technological areas of exhibits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Professional and pleasant telephone manner.
  • Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical employees and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn an array of computer hardware and software.

Education and Experience :

  • Associate’s degree or above in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in customer technical support highly preferred.

Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, squa to perform tasks.
  • Must be able to work off of a ladder and from elevated positions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Work authorization / security clearance requirements.
  • The desired candidate must be eligible to work in the United States. IAAM does not

provide sponsorship.
